Work out the risk
before you place the trade

Calculators, an economic calendar, live charting and hosting for automated strategies — free to use, no account required for most of them.

Risk Calculators

Size the position, not the hope

The single most useful habit in trading is deciding what you are willing to lose before you decide what you want to make. These calculators do that arithmetic for you.

Position size calculator

Work out how many lots to trade so that hitting your stop loses only what you intended.

In your account currency.
Most experienced traders keep this between 0.5% and 2%.
Roughly $10 for most USD-quoted forex pairs. Use the pip value calculator if unsure.
Suggested position size 0.33 lots Risking 100.00 if the stop is hit

Margin calculator

See how much of your balance a position will tie up as margin.

100,000 for forex, 100 for gold.
Required margin 217.28 Notional value: 108,640.00

Pip value calculator

What one pip is worth on your position size.

0.0001 for most pairs, 0.01 for JPY pairs and gold.
Value of one pip 10.00 In the quote currency of the pair
These are estimates, not quotes. Results assume the pip value and price you enter and ignore spread, commission, swap and slippage. Where the quote currency differs from your account currency, convert the result at the prevailing rate. Always confirm actual margin requirements in your trading platform before opening a position — the platform is the authoritative source.
Market Events

Scheduled releases move markets, and spreads routinely widen around them. Check what is coming before you size a position.

Always On

Forex VPS hosting

An expert advisor only works while the terminal is running. A VPS keeps your platform online in a data centre close to our trade servers, so your strategy does not stop when your laptop sleeps or your home internet drops.

  • Hosted near our trade servers for low latency
  • Runs continuously, independent of your own machine
  • Connect from any device over remote desktop
  • Free for ECN Raw, and for Pro on qualifying volume

Expert advisors welcome

Run EAs on any live account. No restrictions on automated strategies, scalping or hedging.

Test before you deploy

Use the MT5 strategy tester and a demo account to validate an EA before it touches live capital.

Automation is not safety

An EA follows its rules without judgement, including into a losing run. Monitor it, and keep a hard limit on exposure.
